Ohio High School Basketball - Vinton County trounced by Athens

The Vinton County Vikings basketball squad (McArthur, OH), was crushed 62-26 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH)

With the victory, Athens advances its record to 12-3 on the year. The Bulldogs host Wellston (Wellston, OH) to meet the Golden Rockets in a Tri-Valley - Ohio battle on Thursday, January 23. The Golden Rockets enter the battle with a record of 4-10. Wellston lost 50-23 in their recent non-league battle against Trimble (Glouster, OH)

The Vikings now own a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host River Valley for a Tri-Valley - Ohio battle on Monday, January 27. Vinton County will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 38-26 league win over Alexander (Albany, OH). The Raiders record now stands at 13-5.
