The Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks (Maricopa, AZ) basketball edged the host Tempe Buffaloes (Tempe, AZ), 48-44 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Golden Hawks now possess a 8-10 record. They play next when they host Coronado for a 4A Black Canyon bout on Friday, January 24. Desert Sunrise will play a Dons team coming off a 47-19 league loss to Dysart (El Mirage, AZ). The Dons record now stands at 7-11.

With the loss, Tempe falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Yuma (Yuma, AZ) to play the Criminals in a 4A Black Canyon bout on Friday, January 24. The Criminals go into the bout with a record of 7-4. Yuma won 86-26 in their recent league bout against Cortez (Phoenix, AZ)
