In Wednesday's league test, the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) basketball team beat the host Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA), by a margin of 54-42.
The Terriers now have a 5-10 record. They play next when they travel to Pulaski County for a non-league game on Thursday, January 23. William Byrd will confront a Cougars team coming off a 63-43 league win over Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 9-3.
With the loss, Northside falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to confront the Cavaliers in a Blue Ridge game on Friday, January 24. The Cavaliers go into the game with a record of 13-1. Lord Botetourt won 44-31 in their recent non-league game against Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA)
