The Jayton Jaybirds basketball team scored 81 points and held the visiting Motley County Matadors to 4 in the Jaybirds league triumph on Monday.
The Jaybirds now sport a 19-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Patton Springs for a 1A Region I District 5 contest on Friday, January 27. Jayton will battle a Rangers team coming off a 85-51 league loss to Guthrie (Guthrie, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 2-7.
The Matadors (1-9) will now prepare for their contest against Paducah (Paducah, TX). The Dragons enter the 1A Region I District 5 contest with a 13-9 record. In their last contest, Paducah was routed by Spur (Spur, TX), 30-26, in a league contest.
