The McFarland Spartans basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the visiting Monona Grove Silver Eagles to 58 in the Spartans non-league victory on Monday.
The Spartans now sport a 15-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clinton for a Rock Valley contest on Thursday, January 26. McFarland will battle a Cougars team coming off a 91-51 non-league loss to Monroe (Monroe, WI). The Cougars record now stands at 4-8.
The Silver Eagles (11-5) will now prepare for their bout against Middleton (Middleton, WI). The Cardinals go into the non-league bout with a 14-0 record. In their last bout, Middleton topped Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN), 51-47, in a non-league bout.
