In Monday's non-league outing, the McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting McMinn Central Chargers (Englewood, TN), by a margin of 102-62.
The Cherokees (12-6) will now prepare for their outing against William Blount (Maryville, TN). The Governors go into the non-league outing with a 20-4 record. In their last outing, William Blount was trounced by Maryville (Maryville, TN), 64-59, in a league outing.
The Chargers now own a 5-13 record. They play next when they host Loudon for a 2A District 3 outing on Tuesday, January 24. McMinn Central will encounter a Redskins squad coming off a 52-37 league loss to Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TN). The Redskins record now stands at 8-12.
