Diagonal Maroons (Diagonal, IA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA), 52-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Diagonal upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Orient-Macksburg (Orient, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a Bluegrass bout on Monday, January 30. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 4-11. Orient-Macksburg won 48-37 in their recent league bout against Seymour (Seymour, IA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Moulton-Udell Eagles (Moulton, IA) in a Bluegrass bout, on Friday, February 3. Murray will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record.
