Smith Center Redmen (Smith Center, KS) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ellis Railroaders (Ellis, KS), 43-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Smith Center upgrades its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Redmen host Hill City (Hill City, KS) to play the Ringnecks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Ringnecks come into the bout with a record of 2-8. Hill City lost 39-17 in their recent non-league bout against Stockton (Stockton, KS)

Next up, the Railroaders play the Victoria Knights (Victoria, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Ellis will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 50-18 non-league loss to Ellinwood (Ellinwood, KS).
