Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils (Grosse Pointe, MI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Utica Chieftains (Utica, MI), 44-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Grosse Pointe South upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Utica Eisenhower (Shelby Township, MI) to play the Eagles in a Macomb Area - Red bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 8-3. Utica Eisenhower won 47-46 in their recent league bout against Grosse Pointe North (Grosse Pointe, MI)

Next up, the Chieftains play the Utica Ford Falcons (Sterling Heights, MI) in a Macomb Area - White bout, on Wednesday, January 25. Utica will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 12-1 record after their 47-18 non-league win over Lakeview (St. Clair Shores, MI).
