Manila Lions (Manila, AR) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR), 50-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Manila upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Lions host Rivercrest (Wilson, AR) to clash with the Colts in a 3A Region 3 bout on Thursday, January 26. The Colts go into the bout with a record of 13-11. Rivercrest lost 83-66 in their recent non-league bout against Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR)

Next up, the Mohawks clash with the Marked Tree Indians (Marked Tree, AR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Piggott will attempt to upgrade on its 15-8 season record.
