The Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) basketball felled the visiting Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA), 72-63 in Tuesday's league test.

The Spartans (7-9) will now prepare for their test against Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 2-15 record. In their last test, Rockbridge County was beaten by Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA), 75-66, in a league test.

The Bruins now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Giles for a non-league test on Friday, January 26. Blacksburg will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 69-29 league loss to Auburn (Riner, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-12.
