New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan can't hold off Mountainair

The Mountainair Mustangs basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Capitan Tigers to 65 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Mustangs now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Alamo Navajo for a A District 3 contest on Thursday, January 25. Mountainair will battle a Cougars team coming off a 74-35 league win over Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 11-6.
The Tigers (6-11) will now prepare for their contest against Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM). The Mavericks enter the 2A District 3 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Lordsburg nudged Cobre (Bayard, NM), 56-46, in a non-league contest.
