Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians (Carlyle, IL), 46-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Greenville upgrades its record to 15-8 on the season. The Comets host Southwestern (Piasa, IL) to play the Piasa Birds in a South Central bout on Friday, January 26. The Piasa Birds go into the bout with a record of 16-7. Southwestern won 45-27 in their recent non-league bout against North Greene (White Hall, IL)

Next up, the Indians/Lady Indians play the Sparta Bulldogs (Sparta, IL) in a Cahokia - Illinois bout, on Friday, January 26. Carlyle will attempt to upgrade on its 17-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 13-8 record after their 64-34 non-league win over Trico (Campbell Hill, IL).
