The Choctaw Central Warriors (Philadelphia, MS) basketball knocked off the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), 85-65 in Tuesday's league test.
The Warriors (18-5) will now prepare for their test against Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 15-5 record.
The Cougars now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they host West Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 test on Friday, January 26. Newton County will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 71-55 league win over Leake Central (Carthage, MS). The Knights record now stands at 18-3.
