Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mattamuskeet Lakers (Swan Quarter, NC), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Columbia upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Wildcats host Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC) to clash with the Hurricanes in a 1A Atlantic 5 bout on Friday, January 26. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 3-10. Cape Hatteras lost 55-41 in their recent league bout against Ocracoke (Ocracoke, NC)

Next up, the Lakers clash with the Bear Grass Charter Bears (Williamston, NC) in a 1A Atlantic 5 bout, on Friday, January 26. Mattamuskeet will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 41-39 league loss to Hobgood Charter (Hobgood, NC).
