El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Esperanza Aztecs (Anaheim, CA), 68-53 in a league bout.

With the win, El Modena upgrades its record to 10-14 on the season. The Vanguards travel to El Dorado (Placentia, CA) to play the Golden Hawks in a North Hills bout on Friday, January 26. The Golden Hawks go into the bout with a record of 16-9. El Dorado won 62-46 in their recent league challenge against Brea Olinda (Brea, CA)

Next up, the Aztecs confront the Brea Olinda Wildcats (Brea, CA) in a North Hills challenge, on Friday, January 26. Esperanza will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 8-14 record after their 62-46 league loss to El Dorado (Placentia, CA).
