The Hillcrest Jaguars basketball team scored 91 points and held the visiting Thomasville Tigers to 54 in the Jaguars non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Jaguars now sport a 23-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monroe County for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Hillcrest will play a Tigers squad coming off a 51-45 league win over Excel (Excel, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 9-10.
Next up, the Tigers play the Excel Panthers (Excel, AL) in a 3A Area 5 bout, on Friday, January 26. Thomasville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 51-45 league loss to Monroe County (Monroeville, AL).
First Quarter
Hillcrest jump out to an early lead in the 1st quarter, scoring 29 points and holding Thomasville to only 14 point.
Second Quarter
Hillcrest held Thomasville to only 9 points in the second quarter of the contest and scored 19 points headed into halftime with a 48 -23 halftime advantage.
Third Quarter
The Jaguars started the second half as they started the game scoring 29 points in the third. Thomasville double their 1st half output by scoring 24 points in the 3rd.
Fourth Quarter
Hillcrest scored 14 points in the 4th and a running clock was implemented due to the 30 point rule. Final score Hillcrest 91- Thomasville 54.
