The Panthers now possess a 17-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Porter for a 5A Region II District 16 battle on Friday, January 26. Lufkin will confront a Spartans team coming off a 54-44 league win over Dayton (Dayton, TX). The Spartans record now stands at 14-12.
The Hornets (9-12) will now prepare for their battle against Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX). The Panthers come into the 5A Region II District 16 battle with a 14-13 record. In their last battle, Kingwood Park was toppled by Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches, TX), 57-42, in a league battle.
