Jefferson Yellowjackets (Council Bluffs, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors (Sergeant Bluff, IA), 71-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Jefferson upgrades its record to 11-2 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Buena Vista (Omaha, NE) to play the Bison in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 25. The Bison go into the bout with a record of 0-13. Buena Vista lost 66-26 in their recent league bout against Creighton Prep (Omaha, NE)

Next up, the Warriors play the Bishop Heelan Catholic Crusaders (Sioux City, IA) in a Missouri River bout, on Friday, January 26. Sergeant Bluff-Luton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 60-57 league win over Le Mars (Le Mars, IA).
