Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA) and the visiting John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), saw Union's basketball squad knock off John Battle by a count of 58-38.

With the victory, Union upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Sullivan East (Bluff City, TN) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 24. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Sullivan East won 76-37 in their recent league challenge against Elizabethton (Elizabethton, TN)

Next up, the Trojans play the Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) in a Mountain challenge, on Friday, January 26. John Battle will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record.
