The La Marque Cougars (La Marque, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Stafford Spartans (Stafford, TX), 36-30 in Tuesday's league test.
The Cougars (14-15) will now prepare for their test against Iowa Colony (Iowa Colony, TX). The Pioneers go into the 4A Region IV District 26 test with a 15-14 record. In their last test, Iowa Colony got by Bay City (Bay City, TX), 83-36, in a league test.
The Spartans now own a 26-5 record. They play next when they travel to Iowa Colony for a 4A Region IV District 26 test on Friday, February 2.
