Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the South Delta Bulldogs (Rolling Fork, MS) and the host Leland Cubs (Leland, MS), saw South Delta's basketball squad knock off Leland by a tally of 58-39.

With the victory, South Delta improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host West Bolivar (Rosedale, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 5 challenge on Thursday, January 25. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-10.

Next up, the Cubs play the West Tallahatchie Choctaws (Webb, MS) in a 1A Region 5 challenge, on Friday, January 26. Leland will attempt to improve on its 2-16 season record. The Choctaws come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 61-24 league win over Shaw (Shaw, MS).
