Lourdes Eagles (Rochester, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN), 53-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lourdes upgrades its record to 4-17 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Lake City (Lake City, MN) to play the Tigers in a AA Section 1 bout on Friday, January 26. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 13-3. Lake City won 56-41 in their recent non-league bout against Byron (Byron, MN)

Next up, the Panthers play the Cannon Falls Bombers (Cannon Falls, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Pine Island will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Bombers come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 78-61 non-league loss to Stewartville (Stewartville, MN).
