Martinsville Pirates (Martinsville, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Neches Tigers (Neches, TX), 68-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Martinsville upgrades its record to 17-7 on the season. The Pirates travel to Centerville (Groveton, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout on Friday, January 26. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 5-17. Centerville lost 100-46 in their recent league bout against Laneville (Laneville, TX)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Wells Pirates (Wells, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Friday, January 26. Neches will attempt to upgrade on its 14-10 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 13-12 record after their 58-34 league win over Slocum (Elkhart, TX).
