In Tuesday's league outing, the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) basketball squad beat the host Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA), by a count of 65-55.

The Purple Hurricanes (15-5) will now prepare for their outing against Hart County (Hartwell, GA). The Bulldogs go into the AAA Region 8 outing with a 10-10 record. In their last outing, Hart County defeated Franklin County (Carnesville, GA), 69-56, in a league outing.

The Warriors now hold a 3-17 record. They play next when they host Hebron Christian for a AAA Region 8 outing on Friday, January 26. Oconee County will clash with a Lions squad coming off a 68-57 league win over Stephens County (Toccoa, GA). The Lions record now stands at 17-1.
