Sherwood Bowmen (Sherwood, OR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newberg Tigers (Newberg, OR), 61-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Sherwood upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The Bowmen travel to McMinnville (McMinnville, OR) to play the Grizzlies in a 6A Pacific bout on Thursday, January 25. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 8-8. McMinnville lost 57-49 in their recent league bout against Liberty (Hillsboro, OR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Century Jaguars (Hillsboro, OR) in a 6A Pacific bout, on Friday, January 26. Newberg will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 71-69 league win over Forest Grove (Forest Grove, OR).
