Riverside Rebels (Lake City, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Rector Cougars (Rector, AR), 71-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Riverside upgrades its record to 23-6 on the season. The Rebels host Cross County (Cherry Valley, AR) to play the Thunderbirds in a 2A Region 3 bout on Friday, January 26. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 5-13.

Next up, the Cougars play the Marmaduke Greyhounds (Marmaduke, AR) in a 2A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 26. Rector will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a 16-14 record after their 64-51 league loss to Earle (Earle, AR).
