Alba-Golden Panthers (Alba, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Cumby Trojans (Cumby, TX), 54-20 in a league bout.

With the victory, Alba-Golden upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Fruitvale (Fruitvale, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 2A Region II District 15 bout on Friday, January 26. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 14-14. Fruitvale won 57-54 in their recent league bout against Boles (Quinlan, TX)

Next up, the Trojans play the Cooper Bulldogs (Cooper, TX) in a 2A Region II District 15 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Cumby will attempt to upgrade on its 8-18 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 15-12 record after their 41-25 league win over Como-Pickton (Como, TX).
