Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Arcadia Hornets (Arcadia, LA), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ruston upgrades its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA) to play the Lions in a 5A District 2 bout on Friday, January 26. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 15-10. Ouachita Parish won 60-21 in their recent league bout against Pineville (Pineville, LA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Ringgold Redskins (Ringgold, LA) in a 1A District 1 bout, on Thursday, January 25. Arcadia will attempt to upgrade on its 22-3 season record. The Redskins come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 56-11 league win over Haynesville (Haynesville, LA).
