The Bovina Mustangs basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Highland Park Hornets to 32 in the Mustangs league victory on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Farwell for a 2A Region I District 3 contest on Friday, January 26. Bovina will battle a Steers team coming off a 51-31 league win over Panhandle (Panhandle, TX). The Steers record now stands at 25-3.

The Hornets (2-21) will now prepare for their contest against Vega (Vega, TX). The Longhorns come into the 2A Region I District 3 contest with a 12-17 record. In their last contest, Vega prevailed over Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX), 51-40, in a league contest.
