North Carolina High School Basketball - Cherryville topped by Burns

The Burns Bulldogs basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the visiting Cherryville Ironmen to 53 in the Bulldogs league victory on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shelby for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest on Friday, January 26. Burns will battle a Golden Lions team coming off a 72-41 league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Golden Lions record now stands at 5-10.

The Ironmen (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons come into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, Thomas Jefferson prevailed over Pinnacle Classical Academy (Shelby, NC), 71-19, in a non-league contest.
