Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Caldwell Chiefs (West Caldwell, NJ), 56-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Newark Academy upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Minutemen host Madison (Madison, NJ) to play the Dodgers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 25. The Dodgers come into the bout with a record of 13-2. Madison won 68-5 in their recent non-league bout against Boonton (Boonton, NJ)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Kearny Kardinals (Kearny, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 25. Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Kardinals come into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 59-33 league win over North Bergen (North Bergen, NJ).
