Douglas County Tigers (Douglasville, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Newnan Cougars (Newnan, GA), 51-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Douglas County upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to New Manchester (Douglasville, GA) to play the Jaguar in a AAAAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, January 26. The Jaguar come into the bout with a record of 14-4. New Manchester won 57-40 in their recent league bout against Alexander (Douglasville, GA)

Next up, the Cougars play the East Paulding Raiders (Dallas, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 5 bout, on Thursday, January 25. Newnan will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 3-17 record after their 54-33 league loss to Paulding County (Dallas, GA).
