Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Owatonna Huskies (Owatonna, MN), 69-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Mayo upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to Faribault (Faribault, MN) to clash with the Falcons in a non-league bout on Friday, January 26. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 3-13. Faribault lost 41-35 in their recent league bout against Northfield (Northfield, MN)

Next up, the Huskies clash with the Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 25. Owatonna will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Scarlets go into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 75-36 non-league win over Albert Lea (Albert Lea, MN).
