Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS), 46-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Derby upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Andover Central (Andover, KS) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 1-0. Andover Central won 67-34 in their recent non-league bout against Derby (Derby, KS)

Next up, the Salthawks play the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) in a bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Hutchinson will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
