Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Spring Mills Cardinals (Martinsburg, WV) and the visiting Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV), saw Spring Mills's basketball squad knock off Jefferson by a tally of 54-38.

With the victory, Spring Mills improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Millbrook (Winchester, VA) to play the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 3-7.

Next up, the Cougars play the Martinsburg Bulldogs (Martinsburg, WV) in a challenge, on Friday, January 26. Jefferson will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record.
