The Nelson Island Islanders basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Akula Elitnaurvik Tundra Foxes to 52 in the Islanders non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Islanders now have a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Z John Williams for a 1A Alaska Coastal game on Friday, January 24.

With the loss, Akula Elitnaurvik falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tundra foxes host Chief Paul Memorial (Kipnuk, AK) to confront the Falcons in a non-league game on Saturday, January 25. The Falcons go into the game with a record of 5-1. Chief Paul Memorial won 59-50 in their recent non-league game against Chaputnguak (Chefornak, AK)
