The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) and the host Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA), observed Auburn's basketball team overwhelm Narrows by a score of 69-47.
The Eagles (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Bland County was routed by Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA), 53-50, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Green Waves battle the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 27. Narrows will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 77-14 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
