The Southwest Guilford Cowboys basketball squad (High Point, NC), was nudged 68-66 in Thursday's league battle with the host Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC)

With the victory, Grimsley advances its record to 10-5 on the year. The Whirlies host Southeast Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to meet the Falcons in a 4A Metro battle on Friday, January 24. The Falcons enter the battle with a record of 6-10. Southeast Guilford lost 66-53 in their recent non-league battle against Western Alamance (Elon, NC)

The Cowboys now own a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Page for a 4A Metro battle on Friday, January 24. Southwest Guilford will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 63-49 league loss to Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 8-9.
