In Thursday's league contest, the host Marengo Panthers basketball team scored a big 70-41 win over the Sweet Water Bulldogs.

The Panthers (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against Shields (Beatrice, AL). The Panthers come into the 1A Area 4 contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Shields smashed Choctaw County (Butler, AL), 53-40, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Choctaw County Tigers (Butler, AL) in a 1A Area 4 contest, on Friday, January 24. Sweet Water will attempt to better on its 1-10 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 6-12 record after their 68-38 league win over Sweet Water (Sweet Water, AL).
