The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA) and the visiting Powhatan Indians (Powhatan, VA), observed Monacan's basketball team knock off Powhatan by a score of 73-63.

The Chiefs (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Clover Hill (Midlothian, VA). The Cavaliers come into the Dominion challenge with a 2-9 record. In their last challenge, Clover Hill was knocked off by Powhatan (Powhatan, VA), 59-48, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians encounter the Cosby Titans (Midlothian, VA) in a Dominion challenge, on Friday, January 24. Powhatan will attempt to improve on its 8-3 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 58-42 league loss to L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA).
