In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Dakota Cougars basketball team scored a good 66-48 win over the Chippewa Valley Big Reds.

The Cougars (11-2) will now prepare for their contest against Marine City (Marine City, MI). The Mariners come into the non-league contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Marine City defeated Marysville (Marysville, MI), 53-40, in a non-league contest.
