In Thursday's league contest, the host South Point Pointers basketball team scored a good 47-38 triumph over the Dawson-Bryant Hornets.

The Pointers (8-6) will now prepare for their contest against Waverly (Waverly, OH). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 8-8 record. In their last contest, Waverly was topped by Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth, OH), 49-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Portsmouth Trojans (Portsmouth, OH) in a Ohio Valley contest, on Monday, January 27. Dawson-Bryant will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 17-0 record after their 73-18 league win over Chesapeake (Chesapeake, OH).
