Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Williams Valley sneaks past Mahanoy Area

The Williams Valley Vikings (Tower City, PA) basketball edged the host Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA), 38-37 in Thursday's league bout.

The Vikings now possess a 13-2 record. They play next when they travel to Nativity BVM for a Schuylkill County 2 bout on Monday, January 27. Williams Valley will play a Green Wave team coming off a 50-27 league loss to Tri-Valley (Hegins, PA). The Green Wave record now stands at 0-14.

With the loss, Mahanoy Area falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Golden bears host Jim Thorpe (Jim Thorpe, PA) to play the Olympians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 25. The Olympians go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Jim Thorpe lost 50-28 in their recent league outing against Panther Valley (Lansford, PA)
