The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the West Stokes Wildcats (King, NC) and the visiting McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC), observed West Stokes's basketball team overcome McMichael by a score of 40-29.

The Wildcats (6-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Walkertown (Walkertown, NC). The Wolfpack come into the 2A Mid-State challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Walkertown dropped by T.W. Andrews (High Point, NC), 81-5, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Phoenix battle the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders (High Point, NC) in a 2A Mid-State challenge, on Friday, January 24. McMichael will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a 12-0 record after their 69-12 league win over Reidsville (Reidsville, NC).
