In Thursday's league test, the Mercer Mustangs (Mercer, PA) basketball squad trounced the host West Middlesex Big Reds (West Middlesex, PA), by a score of 49-26.

Next, the Mustangs clash with the Lakeview Sailors (Stoneboro, PA) in a District 10 Region 1 test, on Monday, January 27. Mercer will attempt to improve on its 6-8 season record. The Sailors come into the test with a 9-7 record after their 54-51 league loss to Wilmington (New Wilmington, PA).

The Big Reds (4-12) will now prepare for their test against Farrell (Farrell, PA). The Steelers come into the District 10 Region 1 test with a 1-8 record. In their last test, Farrell was routed by Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, PA), 64-28, in a league test.
