Whittell Warriors (Zephyr Cove, NV) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Excel Christian Warriors (Sparks, NV), 62-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Whittell upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Warriors host Oasis Academy (Fallon, NV) to play the Bighorns in a 1A Western bout on Thursday, January 27. The Bighorns go into the bout with a record of 8-9. Oasis Academy lost 46-43 in their recent non-league bout against Smith Valley (Smith, NV)

Next up, the Warriors play the Virginia City Muckers (Virginia City, NV) in a 1A Western bout, on Tuesday, January 25. Excel Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Muckers go into the bout with a 7-6 record after their 76-50 league win over Oasis Academy (Fallon, NV).
