North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central tops South Iredell

Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC), 60-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to play the Huskies in a 3A/4A Conference 52 bout on Friday, January 27. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 7-11. Ashe County won 70-59 in their recent league bout against Watauga (Boone, NC)

Next up, the Vikings play the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls (Harrisburg, NC) in a 4A Conference 57 bout, on Friday, January 27. South Iredell will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record. The Ragin' Bulls come into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 66-61 league win over Mooresville (Mooresville, NC).
