Bay Yellowjackets (Bay, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR), 70-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bay upgrades its record to 19-9 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR) to play the Warriors in a 2A Region 3 bout on Friday, January 27. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 9-11. East Poinsett County won 73-55 in their recent league bout against Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Riverside Rebels (Lake City, AR) in a 2A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 27. Cross County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 17-8 record after their 51-40 league loss to Rector (Rector, AR).
