Bland Tigers (Merit, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Trenton Tigers (Trenton, TX), 47-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bland upgrades its record to 12-17 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Wolfe City (Wolfe City, TX) to play the Wolves in a 2A Region II District 14 bout on Friday, January 27. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 12-12. Wolfe City lost 60-49 in their recent league bout against Honey Grove (Honey Grove, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Whitewright Tigers (Whitewright, TX) in a 2A Region II District 14 bout, on Friday, January 27. Trenton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-13 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-19 record after their 44-31 league loss to Tom Bean (Tom Bean, TX).
